Essential
oils were the world's first perfumes and are still its most beautiful and natural.
Since the development of distillation in the 11th century essential oils have
been used to perfume skin care products and for holistic health care. But even
before that aromatic plants and infused oils had been used throughout the world,
notably in ancient Egypt. Blending essential oils together creates unique perfumes
that may be added to body oils, creams, soaps and used as ambient perfumes. By
careful selection it is possible to create all kinds of perfumes from the most
serene to the most exotic and exciting. Essential oil blends are ideal for caring
for the skin as well as making us smell divine. There is an art to the creation
of beautiful perfumes which is not just about a agreeable smell but about introducing
what I call 'the Joy Factor'. Like any art form it takes practice, experimentation
and creativity with a dash of intuition to produce something special. It is also
great fun and very satisfying.
