We hold three day soapmaking holidays at Melinda's restored farmhouse in the Dordogne right through the year. These are run for a minimum of two people so if you feel like a break, you are welcome to contact us at any time and we will try and run a course to fit in with you.
The atmosphere is informal to say the least with two very large poodles usually in attendance around the soap pot. There is a self contained studio gite overlooking the swimming pool that is fine for two (small) people and there are also two double bedrooms with ensuites at your disposal. If you would like to see photos of the accommodation go to www.locationdordogne.net - no smoking in the bedrooms but you can everywhere else!
We are situated in a tiny commune 8kms from four of the prettiest villages in France and the area is renowned for its gourmet food (Melinda doesn't do cooking but there are always some great cheeses and salads for lunch) and, you can play table tennis while you are waiting for your soap to trace.
There is no public transport and we advise you to hire a car so you can get about in the evenings. We are happy to circulate emails prior to the course so that you could join together to do this and share the cost.
In the winter we have a huge log fire and we greatly enjoy having some convivial company around. Courses are conducted in English but whilst our French language is limited, we have had French participants with very little English on the last three courses and they say they had no problem understanding us ! The papers, however, are currently in English but we are working on a translation.
